Every watch that carries the Gadtappa name is inspected before it is ever listed for sale. We built this page so you can see exactly what that process involves, what we check, and what our guarantee actually covers no vague promises, just a clear explanation.

Who Checks Every Watch

Our team has personally inspected and sold over 1000 + pre-owned watches over the years; authenticity has never been an issue for Gadtappa.

What We Check on Every Watch

Before a watch is listed on our website, it goes through the following checks:

• Case & case back confirmed genuine and produced by the original manufacturer, with serial and reference numbers checked against known manufacturer records.
• Dial & hands printing, alignment, and finishing checked against authentic reference samples for the model and production year.
• Movement case is opened and the movement is inspected to confirm it is a genuine, original manufacturer movement and is functioning correctly.
• Bracelet & clasp checked for genuine manufacturer stampings and correct end-links for the reference.
• Box & papers (if included) cross-checked against the watch's serial/reference number to confirm they match.

Vintage & Pre-Owned Watches What's Allowed

Many vintage watches have had routine service parts replaced over decades of ownership this is normal and does not affect authenticity. We certify a watch as authentic when:

• All critical components (case, dial, movement, movement plate) are genuine and made by the original manufacturer.
• Wear parts such as crowns, hands, bezels, or straps may have been replaced over time with genuine manufacturer parts this is disclosed in the product listing where known.
• We do not list or certify any watch found to contain counterfeit parts, or any watch that has been modified with parts bearing a trademark or logo that does not belong to it.

Return Policy

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, provided the watch is returned in the same condition it was shipped in, with all original packaging and papers. See our full Return Policy for details.
